Pluma Hidalgo, Mexico

from $19.95

Light Roast / toasted almonds, wildflower honey, dried fruit and lemon candy

The Pluma Hidalgo region of the State of Oaxaca in southern Mexico is less than an hour’s drive up the mountains from the beautiful shores of Huatulco on the Pacific Ocean. The altitude and micro-climate of the region contribute to make these coffees a prized export of Oaxaca. These coffees are known for their nutty notes mixed with mild chocolate flavor and fruity top notes, balanced with a mild acidity. The high-grown Arabica varieties include Typica (“Pluma Hidalgo”), Bourbon, and Geisha—a rare treat to enjoy.

Our coffees are directly sourced from our coffee co-op partners to provided sustainable practices and economic support for small family farmers throughout Central America. These coffees are custom roasted in small batches using renewable electric convection roasters. This roasting technology preserves the clean flavors and quality of these amazing coffees without the charred and burned flavor that is associated with gas-fired drum roasting.

Target cupping score: 86-87

Altitude: 1600-1800 meters above sea level
